Book a guided tour →The Tourist Route is guided in Polish, English, German, French, Italian, Russian, Spanish and Ukrainian. Tours in Polish run as continuously as possible, while tours in other languages leave at fixed times, depending on how many tickets are available online.
For any language other than Polish and English, the mine says you must buy the ticket online in advance. We could not verify how often English tours leave: one third-party guide gives every 30 minutes, but we do not rely on it.
For Polish and English, the mine says the tour goes ahead on the basis of tickets not sold online, so availability varies. Our own advice, not an official rule: in July and August and on weekends, book your date and language before you travel.
The ticket, an e-ticket or a printout, shows the day, time and language. The mine asks you to arrive at least 15 minutes before. The Tourist Route lasts 2 to 3 hours and the group has at most 40 people.
If you did not buy online, allow extra time for the ticket office and the lockers.
The Miners’ Route starts at the Regis Shaft, not at the Daniłowicz Shaft. It takes groups of up to 20 people aged 10 or over, with a guide called the Foreman, and booking is recommended. Our article compares it with the Tourist Route.
